These trailer slipper springs are an important element of the suspension system. Your trailer’s axle is suspended from the frame of your trailer by the leaf springs, which offer connection points for it. Because of the additional restraint, using the slipper to hold the spring provides the trailer good lateral stability. In addition, the space between the chassis and the spring is relatively small with these springs on a single axle, which might be advantageous if you want to keep the deck height low.
